Leaking coolant from behind blower motor
Leaking coolant from behind blower motor
I have a leak that just started running off the body underneath the car. I checked around the heater core inlet/outlet and its completely dry also inside on the passenger floor and that is dry. It is coming out from behind the blower motor. Would there be some kind of drain hole in the firewall that if the heater core does explode that it will leak into the engine bay and not inside the car?

Here is the picture with labels because it is a little hard to define. But where the coolant lines I drew are where it is leaking down from. Any suggetsions?

Alright if anyone sees this post and has the same issues, I went ahead and replaced the heater core and I now have no leaks. Turns out there is a pretty common problem with the brass inlet/outlet tubes where they seal at the core. I did my own pressure test by blowing in one and covering the other and you could feel the coolant being blown out passed the tubes. If anyone has questions on how to get the heater core out, just give me a shout. Patients is key.

Good find! somebody probably "pulled" the old heater hoses off once- they arean't desinged to handle that. i always split the hose with a razor blade first, then peel it off...
