SBC TPI Water Pump plug

During the course of replacing my water pump, I was unable to remove the upper plug to transfer it to my new pump. So I stopped in @ Home Depot, and they had the perfect plug! 1/2" Cast Iron plug. Fits like a glove.

I applied some pipe cement to help seal. Just an FYI thread as I couldn't find the answer to this quandry. A 17mm 12 point socket/reversible ratchet gripped it perfectly.

Yup, that would be the size... pretty standard stuff...

Except next time, use brass; that way, it'll pop right back out of there effortlessly, whereas the cast iron will be impossible to remove, again.
