need advice on a busted radiator support

got into an accident yesterday on a road trip. body is f'd which i can fix in time, but the issue is my radiator support being bent back, to where the fans are up against it. i need to either bend the bar back (until i find a new support) or remove it.
I remember seeing on here, several instances where the top radiator support had been removed. has anyone done this? i literally need to just drive it another 160 miles, and i can worry about finding that part after i get home.
so if anyone can walk me through about what i can do, i cant put a new radiator in until i am able to figure out that support situation.

sorry, limited time computer availability, search feature wasnt helping me out.
