Weird issue

So my car warms up fine in the afternoon gets up to 220 and runs fine

But when it's cold in the morning, the car won't get past 150..

I replaced my temp sender, and changed the coolant and rad cap(was leaking)

Thermostat issue?

Thanks guys

Re: Weird issue

Hey fill out your details for better help.

Very well could be a faulty thermostat, stuck open.
Fits your symptoms.

Re: Weird issue

Yeah.....could be a stuck thermostat. Id also double check your temp gauge.....just saying this because once I had the same thing happen and come to find out....my car wasnt running at 230 on hot days and 170 on cool days.....it was running 210 on hot days and 190 on cool days......220 is a normal operating temp but I think its a bit on the high side. All of our 3rd gens run 180-200 max no matter what the temp is but we also run the Ford Taurus fans in all ours. Maybe get a mechanical temp gauge and hook it up and see what it says. Or just blow a few bucks on the thermo and see if that fixes it......thermos are cheap at least hopefully thats all it is....good luck
