What part am I looking for (name)
What part am I looking for (name)
I have a 1988 Camaro RS,Bought used in 93, with the 2.8 V6, now has 158000 miles on it.
Today I had a leak in the cooling system and not sure just what the part is called ,so I can go shopping for a new one.
This a plastic unit that feeds coolant to heater core ,attached to the block on passenger side of car, broke off at the connecting hose .
I was not home at the time and had to do some "jerry rigging" to get home. Disconected the lowest line of the system below the 2 heater lines and connected back to to block through the pipe that the broken part connected,2 differnt size lines but with 3 clamps holding it worked well enough too get home.
Is this thing needed or can I connect the heater directly, bypassing this thing completely?? Any help appreciated. Thanks jimbear

That is what I thought it may be ,Thanks for infro. Now to get shopping.
Also plan on replacing "all" of the coolant hoses as I never had to change any of them as long as I have had the car. Due to age and milage it seems like a good idea. Thanks again
