http://www.ebay.com/itm/ACDELCO-OE-SERVICE-HVAC-Heater-Assembly-Heater-Water-Engine-Inlet-Nippbb-/111269509863?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19e82dfae7&vxp=mtr
all I need is the clip that goes inside of it. it just broke apart when I tried removing it.

Any parts store should have a motormite/dorman heater fitting section with replacement plastic retainer clips and/or fittings.

nevermind went to Oreiley and found the piece. $5 piece... they didn't have it on its own so I had to buy an "assorted" pack. I guess to them 2 different clips count as assorted.

Nice. With age those fittings corrode internally and its at best a 50/50 chance you'll break it in two if you had to remove the fitting itself. Be sure to clean the groove inside the fitting where that plastic clip resides.
