My car overheats at a idle standing still in about 50 seconds i can feel the coolants running threw tje top hose. I dont know why it heats up so fast. If i cant figure it out i might as well drop a real sbc in it and get a 350

U might have air in the cooling system also .. to remove air u need to jack up the front of the car as high as u can and let the motor run with the rad cap off .. also u can pump/squeeze the top rad hose while doing this to help

Edit: did u replace the radiator cap? Does the system pressurize ? After it gets up to temp u shouldn't b able to squeeze the radiator hose hardly at all because of the pressure on inside of hose

Re: overheating

I recently bought a replacement 305 for my TA and undone the drain plug on the block and it was blocked with sediment and sludge. (98k miles) well worth a check, may just need cleaning out and a damn good flushing.
