Drain plug broken inside of radiator

Hey everyone,

I was swapping out my upper and lower hoses on my radiator but when I removed my drain plug at the bottom of my radiator the plug broke into two main parts. One came out and the other with the prongs stayed inside. I pulled my radiator totally out to try and have a clearer picture of it and grab it with dif tools. So far no luck. I have a replacement plug, but I want to know does it really matter if I get the rest out of my radiator or not?

My car is an 85 iroc 305 tpi.

Re: Drain plug broken inside of radiator

Should be fine in there...not likely that it will ever leave the bottom of the radiator..

I'd keep trying to get it out, simply because it would bug me knowing it was in there. Where there's a will, there's a way!!

I tried a few more minutes but quickly grew tired of dropping it once I got a hold of it. I just started putting everything back together. I will let everyone know what happens after a few times out in the car.

Re: Drain plug broken inside of radiator

I can't recall if the drain is in the opposite tank, but is it possible to fish it out of the lower hose opening?

The lower hose sits on top of the drain plug location. I tried that route but there is a metal rod going down the center of that opening so it didnt allow me a good look at the broken piece.
