HELP PLZZ

So I'm went to flush my coolant system today. I noticed when I was putting everything back together that the water in the manifold wasn't draining. There's just a puddle of water right under the water neck.

Does anyone know why and if there's a way to snake the clogged artery, so to speak.

Re: HELP PLZZ

Did you pull the lower radiator hose to drain it? how much water are you talking about in the cross-over?

Re: HELP PLZZ

Have you drained the radiator? Is the thermostat still under the neck? Zenish has the obvious answer if the answers are yes. Otherwise you would have a clog and no a snake will probably not help. You would have to use sometime of solvent to remove the corrosion/clog.

Re: HELP PLZZ

Josh, I would like to give you the benefit of the doubt, and say that you "did" remove the thermostat. (Did you?)

Re: HELP PLZZ

I did remove the thermostat, as well as the lower radiator hose to drain it. But if I stuck my finger straight down into where the thermostat goes, there's just a Little puddle. Maybe about an inch deep.

Re: HELP PLZZ

Did you drain the engine block?

Lift the car and crawl underneath.

Remove both the block drains. One drain hole might contain the knock sensor. If no water comes out, poke a small screwdriver in the hole to break apart the scale and sludge.

Once the block is drained the water in the intake manifold will disappear.

Re: HELP PLZZ

Don't know what you're trying to accomplish Josh, but it sounds like you've done OK. A little standing water here or there isn't gunna harm anything.
