fan burn out

Monday on my way to work my main cooling fan decided to seize up and burn out literally smoke and all on my 92 Formula.

I replaced it yesterday and now none of them work. I replaced the relay no change. If I jump the brown and orange wire then only the main one works but not the secondary even with the AC on. Any ideas as to what I'm missing could it be the switch in the block or do I have other issues?

Thanks all,
Danny

Re: fan burn out

Do you have a fuse that needs to be replaced somewhere in the setup?

Re: fan burn out

If you have to jump the brown wire to hot the fan fuse in the panel is likely blown. Replace it and try jumping the green/white on primary and black or grey wire on aux fan to ground to trip the relay. If no function, try swapping relays to see if the relay is bad. Look in the connectors for burnt wire ends. Jump orange to black/red wire and see if fan works. Check fan grounds. Update what you find and we can go from there.

Edit: you may be powering the fan through the Ign circuit by the way you are jumping it. Take a close look at the fusible link to make sure it's not burnt. Jumping the orange to black/red wire like I said will test that.
