VDO Replacement fans
Was looking at cooling fan motors today, and had an apostrophe.
VDO PN PM517 is for the stock dual fan TPI setup. However, PM537 is for a 2000 Camaro LS1. Specs wise they are identical. Whats the difference? Judging by the pics and specs they should be 100% two way interchangeable. If it works out I might buy a set of the LS1 fan motors and put them on my stock setup. Thoughts?

Re: VDO Replacement fans
The LS1 fans are similar to the LT1 fan motors in that they are series wired internally. The TPI fan motors are not. They feature the same connector and mount up the same tho. You can run the LS1 fans but you'd need a dedicated dual speed harness-the stock ECM fan control won't work unless you use its ground trigger the power another relay. Then use your stock secondary relay to energize high speed. It can be done.

Re: VDO Replacement fans
OR, eliminate the entire stock setup (since it is butchered anyways) and go with an aftermarket controller.
