Blower Motor Power Source?
I'm about to put my car back together and I have been redoing the wiring harnesses. The one thing I'm unsure of is where to connect the power source for the blower motor.
I have the plug with a red power wire that connects to the AC harness and I was just going to connect it straight to my power distribution block, which is tapped straight from the alternator/battery positive.
I've heard that doing this can burn out the blower motor, but will make it much more effective at moving air through the ducts. Can anyone confirm this?

Re: Blower Motor Power Source?
The blower motor is wired through the high speed relay if you have an ac car. It's wired straight from the distribution block with a fusible link.
This is my setup, albeit custom it's the same as stock with just the AC deleted. Power from distribution block to the relay. Pruple tapped off to resistor for lower fan speeds. Once relay kicks in the same purple one is switched to power the motor at full speed bypassing the resistors.

The relay you see is not stock, but it works just the same way. I have it wired like that on all mine except the factory non AC 88. I never blew a blower motor or the fusible link.

I have a factory AC car, so I have the high speed relay. Good to hear it is wired like that stock.
