Aftermarket Cooling Fans.

Ok guys, I am having a problem with my fans randomly not working.

I have an aftermarket controller set up so that they come on at 190 or when i turn the ac on. This worked great until recently when the fans seemingly for no reason stop running. I thought it was when they got hot maybe, but I have done cold test.

I can walk out and pop the hood wire the relay to the battery and they pop on, an hour later walk out to do the same thing and they dont run at all. Im so confused by these fans so I am considering a couple cheap replacement just to get me on the road for now.

anyone have any recommendations I linked a seemingly decent pair above.

An Update kind of, I went out again and tried and the fan started to turn and then stopped. So i am thinking the fans have finally had it. They are 24 years old.

I'd suggest one of these bad mama jammas....its a RamCharger (Intrepid/Stratus) dual fan/dual speed fan assembly. These are tested OEM fans with one if my control harnesses. But, you can source the fans yourself at any pick n pull yard. Just check for any bearing noises and excessive amperage draw. They measure approx. 18.5x26x3 inches overall.

Re: Aftermarket Cooling Fans.

These are rated @ 2800 CFM on low speed and 4000 CFM on high. They are wired in series through the motor windings so the control harness for them is slightly different than those for TPI/LT1/LS1 which can be wired for dual speed with a relay bank as well.
