87 firebird coolant leak

I have a 1987 5.0l firebird that is leaking coolant. I noticed it when I went to pull the right hose on the backside of my heater core as I was in the middle of replacing it.

There is a tee about a foot or so after the firewall and a line branches off of that main line and heads down over toward the distributor cap. The line connects to a small fitting that from the best I can tell is threaded on the one side.

Iam not sure what the part would be called but that fitting basically disintegrated into a million pieces from being so corroded. Unfortunately it's still threaded into whatever it is going into. Any advice on what that fitting is, what it does, and where to get another would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: 87 firebird coolant leak

It broke into a million pieces before I could see it but I believe it used to look like this and it threads in on the intake manifold. I also need a way to get the threads out of where it went into since they're still stuck in there and an easy out isn't working.
