Could some one tell me what part this is. I've included a picture.
I was giving my cooling system a good cleaning. Installing the T fitting to back flush it and this plastic part with 3 lines hooked up to it just crumbled apart. Do I need it ? I'm assuming I do. Anyways I'm gonna have to get a new one before I can move on. Thanks.

Called a 'heater control valve'. It controls the flow of hot coolant through the heater core (i.e. when the A/C is on it shuts the flow off). You can find it at oreilly's by searching for 'heater control valve', and I'm sure you can find it other places too.
