A/C gets cold but only with blower in high
I have a 91 convertible trans am with functioning a/c but it only gets cold with the blower on high. It gets very cold very quickly but when I turn the blower down to any other speed it stops being cold, blower works just in all 4 speeds just not cold anything but high.
I also want to mention the heater has been bypassed, any connection between the two? I plan on hooking the heater core back up, it came to me that way and just haven't had time to work on it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Gary

No, has nothing to do with the heater core.
Remove the AC control head. Trace the wires back up into the dash. Find the wire that brings power into it. Verify that the connector where the HVAC harness plugs into the dash harness to get power, is not burned up.

Thanks, I'll get on that soon. I might be crazy but these controls seem to be working ok now, last night when I drove it, it was running just fine. Working in all positions. I may need some work on the temp control doors, in vent mode air was blowing out of the defroster vents in the dash.
Since this is just a summer car should I even mess with the heater core? Any opinions on this?

Of course you should fix the heater; why deliberately leave something broken or hacked up in an otherwise "nice" car; but fix the other too.
Burned-up connections are often intermittent: they'll work OK for awhile, then not so much when disturbed somehow, then maybe a bit better again the next time you hit a bump or the air gets moist, then quit altogether, then ... but they NEVER "heal" themselves.
