Mechanical fan
I'm putting together an 85 Z28 basically from boxes of parts. This a TPI motor. I'm now getting ready to install the cooling system. I noticed in my parts that I have an older copper radiator and a mechanical fan. Was this an option?

Re: Mechanical fan
85 tpi had a single electric fan.
The radiator should have plastic tanks and aluminum core.

Re: Mechanical fan
Don't really matter much; but I'm pretty sure that the 85 fan was a 1-year only fan too. The blades were different that year compared to every other fan I've ever seen on a third gen. I noticed this "weird" blade style on the 85 TPI and 85 MFPI cars; but that's it.

Re: Mechanical fan
some 82s had a copper/brass radiator-original in mine was copper and I found one on an apparently original CFI '82 z 28.Did also find an aluminum on a 4/82 CFI T.A. though...Mechanical fans were used on LG4s and LU5 v8s through '85.As noted above,83-85 early design electric fans did have curved, swept back blades instead of straight blades like 85.5-later design.
