83 TA - AC wiring
Hey all,
I'm totally changing my AC setup and am using a SAnden style compressor / March performance serpentine kit.
I am assuming I can hook that up with existing wiring and use the factory accumulator, condensor, and evaporator with no issues.
Does anyone know if the AC wiring is at all connected to the ECU? I'm also planning to tear out as much wiring as I can as I've already moved away from the stock wiring for the gauges, fan, ignition, and have an aftermarket EFI (not much left that I need beyond wiring for the wiper motors and pumps!

In 83, no, there's no connection to the computer whatsoever.
Yes all of the other AC system parts will work fine. They really don't care too much about the identity of the pump; to them, it's just a "black box" that produces pressure and flow. As long as its pressure and flow are in the right range (which is pretty forking wide considering the "precision" level of the original R-4), it'll be essentially transparent to the other parts.
