Best way to replace A/C condenser

I have a 86 Z28 and my ac condenser is bent up really bad to the point of restricting airflow to the radiator. The system is all original and using R12.Im looking for the best way to replace and still use the original R12.The system works great except for the hi temps on hills and the hi-way(230-240).Also I have a new 350 crate engine and a aluminum two-core radiator. Thanks in advance

Sometimes leaves and other crud get stuck between the condenser and radiator
have you cleaned that area out first?

Not much to it really...

Remove radiator. Disconnect refrigerant lines after recovering the refrigerant. Rotate all hardware counterclockwise until loose. Installation is the reverse of removal.
