Custom radiator
Hi all. Finally have my entirely new drivetrain in and started tuning my '87 GTA. Installed a custom 3 row radiator and the small radiator hose fitting on the top left of the radiator is about 1/2" longer than the stocker. This is an issue since I'm running an 8-rib procharger. I have a sleeve over the hose and it's tie wrapped back, but the hose is bent at a really tight 90 and the belt still rubs the sleeve when the car heats up. With the blower and big cam, the car runs a little too warm for my liking so I'm looking to find(Griffin maybe can make one) a radiator with a top hose fitting of 90 degrees. That would work perfect. I don't want to run a 4th gen radiator as my piping to the TB runs on the right side.
So anyone seen a custom 4 core radiator with a 90 degree top hose fitting in the radiator?
Thanks!
Chris

Re: Custom radiator
Why not cut the fitting off at a 45* angle and tig weld it back together so it makes the 90* bend you desire?

Re: Custom radiator
Thought about that, but the issue is that the car runs warm and needs additional cooling capacity anyway. Car pushes 220 on an 75-80 degree day. Should run less than 190. condenser in front of radiator and intercooler mounted under the front end of the car too. There's room for a larger radiator. I'll probably just sell this one and have a custom one made instead. The current one has all of 40 miles on it maybe.
Thanks for the thought. It crossed my mind to simply cut it back about 3/4", but that only solves half the problem.
