Cooling issues trans am 1986
Hi guys.
I have suddenly got a cooling issue with my 1986 trans am. It has a 305 engine.
To give you the background I will tell you what happened. Due to gearbox problem (it has an 5 speed manual gearbox) I removed the gearbox about two months ago to get it serviced. Got it back and mounted it again. After this the cooling issues started. It had no cooling issues before this. Wether or not it has got anything to do with the gearbox or not I dont know (but i doubt it)
When the car stands in the garage and running its fine. Even when I drive it nicely it's fine. It's when I give it some RPM the problems come. The temp rises very high and I have to stop the car and cool it down.
Things I've tried
1. Take out the termostat.. Same problem.
2. Flushed the radioator. Same problem.
3. There's No water in the oil.
4. Water from the radioator is green and clear
5. Fan is running
6. AC has been removed.
What I find strange is that it had no issues before I serviced the gearbox..
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction here....
Sorry if my writing isnt to good...

Is your radiator(boiling) gurgling back into the overflow tank?,it should if your overheating. The gauges on these cars aren't that accurate, get yourself one of these

Run an infrared thermostat on your thermostat housing, upper radiator hose and compare those temps to what your guage is telling you.
Lower hose could be collapsing at rpm when the pressure rises in the system.
Also, check the pressure on your radiator cap. Possible its not holding pressure.
