Swapped to a 290 h.p. crate that has the mild cam. Everything new along with it. Have had temp troubles and just used a temp gun on the headers and the four corners run 100 degrees cooler than the four middle ones .Normal ? or do I have an internal problem. It runs great but temp stability.....

Re: engine

Any blockages anywhere? New hoses, thermostat etc? Burp the coolant system properly?

Re: engine

100° isn't too terrible of a difference. Not perfect of course, but far less problematic than some.

Most likely, it's imperfect fuel distribution. Not unusual in carbed setups, which might or might not apply in your case, we don't know because you left out that rather important tidbit of info.

Not sure what any of that has to do with "temp stability" though.

Re: engine

My mechanic says with headers that the middle two being so close well be hotter / normal. My bigger dilemma has been getting up to temp. Exluding the hottest days of summer I have to cover 3/4 or more of the radiator to run at even 170. Every thing is new. Tried all thermostats / changed out the Evans coolant for 50/50. Weird. Does seem like one end of the radiator gets hotter than the other. Can't recall witch now and she's wrapped up now for the winter. Have a good one.
