Water pump direction question

Hello, I have a new to me 3rd gen that had a 350 swap from an original 305 car before I bought it. The guy swapped many parts over from the original 305. I suspect the water pump was also swapped. My alternator is on the left, so I’m wondering if the water pump is spinning the right direction or not on the 350 as I have a bit of a colony issue. Installed a new aluminum rad with 1” tubes and I’m still getting warm while driving at higher rpm. OEM Single Electric fan works fine, no issues at idle.

how do I tell if the water pump is correct for the direction? Thanks

Re: Water pump direction question

Take the rear cover off the pump and look. If serpentine will need reverse rotation.

Re: Water pump direction question

Serpentine is one belt and pump would be reverse rotation. V-belt is normal rotation.
