[Update] to 86 trans am with strange over heating
Hello again. I just wanted to let you guys know I tried all the suggestions that were posted on my post and I finally fixed my cooling issue with the 86' trans am.
At 1st I though it was my air dam I made wasn't right but it was fine after checking over it and it's placement. Next, i checked on the radiator and it seemed fine and had no air trapped. When I checked the fan again and realized the motor was not pulling enough air in to help cool the engine and decided to replace the fan motor since I assume the other motor was the orignal and never thought much of the motor not working properly.
Once the new fan motor was in, it helped out with cooling much better. Also, as others have mentioned, my temp gauge isn't accurate at all. I went out and got a infrared heat gun and while my gauge says it was 220, it was only at 180. I made sure to check it multiple times over a course of time and it was consistently 180 which is a lot better before. Since than, I haven't had any cooling problems at all and has been running and preforming better on daily drives.
I appreciate all the help I've gotten on here and has made a huge difference for me, who's still learning about my 86 trans am.

Right on. Good for you following advice and double checking your instrumentation.
