Car: 1986 trans am
Engine: 305 HO
Transmission: manual
86 trans am overheating any ideas about the problem?
i bought an 86 firebird/trans am from my father who bought it with 67 miles on it and has been my dream car ever since it sat for 16 yrs. and now overheats the engine only has 55k on it mostly freeway/highway i know it's something simple just don't know what any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could be a number of things - clogged radiator, radiator needs a flush, misssing air dam, bad fan switch, or coolant temp switch, or fan relay, stuck thermostat, bad radiator cap, etc. etc.
