New AC Compressor Oil and the Mystery Screw

While replacing my condenser and dryer, I pulled the orifice tube and found aluminum shavings. I figured it might be best to replace the compressor while I'm at it and flush all the tubes. I got the new compressor which came loaded with 3oz of pag oil. The ac is already 134a so pag is cool, but I think I need to add more for the other components. I'm going to flush the evaporator but it's staying in. I'm thinking 6oz total, 3 in the new compressor, 1ish in the evap after a rinse, so add 2oz. Am I on point there?
So I'm looking at the old compressor and new compressor at the same time. I turned the old one upside down and no oil came out. Is there an oil plug or does the oil just go straight in the back where refrigerant pumps through?
The sticker on the new one says "add oil here" like I just dump some in the back, but I noticed there is another threaded plug on the backside.
What is this mystery screw? Is it an oil plug or something I don’t want to open?

Normally I turn those upsde down and drain oil out of the fitting holes while turning the middle clutch.

I used 8oz total in mine. I've read both 6 and 8 so I'm not sure which is actually correct. Maybe play the middle and go with 7 oz.
