heater ducting

I just got done going down a rabbit hole and ended up removing ALL of the dashbord/heater box...I changed all the foam out and cleaned it up for re-install and I noticed some openings on the back of the heater box, in the same ducting for the floor selection (the ducting that has ducts to either side and straight forward connecting to the center council vents....the dash was out about 10 years ago (I had it apart fixing mistakes from the first time...I should have supervised more closley) I am assuming theres ducting that atttaches to the openings, but I'll be damed id I cant remember what it looks like, where it comes out or where it attaches....anybody have Ideas, pics would be awesome.
Thanks

Mark

Re: heater ducting

I found a pic of the heater box with the ducts I'm talking about circled......what ducting attaches to there....it dosent make sense to have it just blow forward into the dash

Re: heater ducting

I just checked mine, and they are open. Nothing hooks up there. I assume it is for the heat/floor setting.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: heater ducting

That's what I seem to recall as well. No ducts; the air just comes out there when directed to the floor.

Re: heater ducting

wow, I wonder why they did that...it seems all it would do is heat up the inside of the dash, and feels like somtheing should be attached....like some sort of ducting to go outboard....I might fab up some removable block off plates and see if the heater works better and later on mabe some ducting to go outboard.
