SSpeed density ECM HELL...P...Conversion Problems..

OK admittedly I know Little to Nothing about ecm's...Anyway Im switching to a map system from a maf one and had some questions reguarding repinning...

First off I have a GM16198262 Basically superceded the 7730 ECU....

Anyway I have the plugs hat go into the MAP computer...Were cut out of the donor car... BUT I noticed when looking at the page to repin my harness that some of the wires are in different places....

Example....In BA8 there is supposed to be An ALDL connection orange wire....On my harness the orange wire is on BA9.... When looking at the ecm page it shows that both A8 and A9 were used for this.... My question is....Do I switch to A8 as the conversion page shows or leave mine at A9????? I realize that these ecm's were used on different cars and dont know what mine came out of....so is the A9 aldl connection possibly for a different car??/

Thats the only one thats NEEDED which is missing....Well the 2 Air system leads are gone too but so is my AIR system so Im not worried about those..

but ONE OTHER THING THATS DIFFERENT IS bd13 AND bd15 show as N/C.....YEt mine have wires coming out of those 2 ports.....WHats the deal there...Was it used for something???

I guess what my real question is SUPPOSE I already had 7730 Wiring in my car.....Would this superceded GM ECU Fit in without changing the pinouts???? If thats the case then I will Remove the extra ones I dont need and move the terminal for aldl from A9 to A8 as the 7730 Fbody wiring is...that way my conversion harness will match the ecu swap page..

Sorry if this does not make sense but I just want to make sure Im not going to fry something if I do change it or If I leave it...

Thanks
Kenwood

A8 stays at A8
A9 moves to E12
D13 has no wire on the 165
D14 has no wire on the 165

I did the swap a couple of weeks ago and repinned according to Mike Davis' web page, and his instructions were exactly right. I compared his instructions to my '87 and '92 factory service manuals, and again, everthing was exactly right.

Are you absolutely sure you don't have the connectors turned around or something? There are microscopic pin numbers and letters cast into the plastic connectors, get real close with a flashlight and double check.

Good luck

When you say the harness was from a '7730
doner car, was that a TPI F-body? The '7730
was used in hundreds of different models, from
4-cyl, 6-cyl, 8-cyl, TPIs, etc.. The pin outs
and color codes would only apply if the doner
was a '90-'92 TPI Fbody car.

Following the pin outs in the docs will
work, but the colors may not match..
