Can the 1985 305 TPI use the same chip as a 1985 383 TPI

Hey

One of my buddies has a 1985 IROC Z with a built 383 stroker TPI. I have a 1985 IROC Z with a 305 TPI. I tryed out his chip in my car since we have the same computers and it took of 3 tenths in the 1/4 mile, Well he is going to copy his chip and give it to me to use in my car. I am wondering if his chip for the 383 TPI will mess up anything with my 305 TPI.

You would need a scan tool to see what it's doing in your car. I would be interested in a copy of your friends bin file to compare to my 85 350 vette bin. Please send to wn@csi.com if possible.

Car: 85 iroc,96 z28,96 Ram 2500,69RR

Engine: 383 with AFR heads.

Transmission: richmond 5 speed

Axle/Gears: 1991 w/1LE.auburn pro series.2.73's

ran the stocker when the 406 went in. that was around 87 or so,cranked up the fuel pressure, and it ran ok. got a stage 2 hyperpoop chip shortly thereafter which served me alright till a couple years ago when i had to go and find out that some individuals were making their own chips-now im a mad scientist too.
