DB25 pin ALDL interface cable

I have searched and searched on this one, but to no avail. Does anyone know what pin to use on a DB25 pin connector for the +12 volts I need that would usually be coming from pin 4 on a DB9 connector (I tried just running this to a hot wire and I think I've fried something in my serial port ). Also, do I understand correctly that I must use a 10K resistor between ports A and B on the ALDL to recieve data?

Thanks all,
Harry

You can use a DB25

This is a page with different serial connectors:
http://www.passtimeracing.com/eric/Ref/Serial.htm

DB9 -> DB25
2 -> 3
5 -> 7
4 -> 20

You could connect the resistor to a 12V source on te car. In that case you only connect pin 3 and 7 on the DB25 connector.
