Knock Sensor To Have or Not To Havea?

Im changing out my V8 in my S10 to a 350 V8 with a TPI but the engine that is going in is the old style engine and it does not have a place for the Knock Sensor should I put one on it or just leave it off?
If I dont put it on what will the computer do and what do I have to do with the sensor?
But if I do put it on where would I put it and how?

Thanks.

Hi
If you just leave the sensor connected into the system, but grounded to make a circuit the engine will run. If you leave out the sensor completely it might run for a while then show a fault.

But the sensor should be used, and it can go anywhere there is a hole to take it. It should fit any spare coolant temperature tapping so it might go into one of the heads.

It doesn't matter too much where it goes so long as it is on the engine somewhere.

How old is your block? There should be a drain plug on the side of the block near the freeze plugs.
