Firts scans---???,s
Firts scans---???,s
I've just done my first three scans and I have a couple of issues I need help with.
My BLMs are running between 108 and 118. (Hopefully I set up my signature so you can see my setup.) I'm running higher than stock fuel pressure, in thoery, to compensate I have more motor than the stock computer is used to (165). Should I try lowering pressure 2# or so at a time to see if that brings up my BLMs to the 128 range?
Initially I set my timing at factory specs, 6 BTDC, I noted that it acted like a motor that was timed too slow. I've gradually been advancing the timing 3 degree at a time and I can feel improvement in the seat of my pants. I'm running Ease. I don't know if it's me, the software or the 165 ECM but I dont' have a category for knock counts. I am wondering if the category for "knock count retard" is what I'm needing to watch. Initially I no incidences of knock count retard. After advancing to an indicated 12 BTDC I got about 4 incidences in a 6 mile run. At 15 BTDC I got about 1/2 dozen. Between 12 and 15 degrees BTDC I really didn't fell any improvement. Is advancing until I see a few knock retards a reasonable method? How many incidences are "normal"? I'm starting to wonder if my harmonic balancer hasn't slipped on its rubber ring because all indications point toward it being off. I sure hope not as I had the motor balanced with that balancer.
I'm new to this and reading all I can get to suck up all the infon I can, but any help is definitely appreciated. If I've stated anything that is erroneous don't hesitate to tell me.
Thanks in advance.
Kendall
