Gen 6 DFI ?'s
Gen 6 DFI ?'s
I can get my hands on a gen 6 DFI setup pretty cheap and was wondering what all is involved with the swap. I'm swapping the motor anyway, so it's out of the car. The harness that's with it is for an LT1. Is it too different to use on an L98? If it can be modified to work with the TPI, how much work or $$$ is involved. Also, is there anything that the stock PCM controls that the DFI won't...like my gauges, etc.. If not, is there a way that I can "piggy-back" the two PCM's? Sorry for the duma$$ questions, but I'm new to the DFI thing. Thanx.

If you are interested in a piggy back check out Fast Track Performance. I have a piggy back in a 87 IROC with a 406. There is some things like A\C clutch, cruise control ect. that DFI will not control. A LT-1 harness and a L-98 harness are goig to be different, how different I don't know. Talk to Mac. Here is a link.

I've got the fasttrack setup on my car & haven't had any problems.
You won't need the harness if you get the fasttrack box. The only wiring you'll have to do is for a map sensor if your car has a MAF.
