ECM upgrade help

I want to upgrade my '85 ECM to a '86-'89 ECM. I have a '86 ECM, a '86 harness, a '86 MAF, and the two MAF relays. I read the tech article and I'm having a hard time understanding it.
If the following is wrong please correct me:

The '85 harness connctors will fit, only the pins have to be moved around.
The '86 MAF and relays are used.
The MAS is not used.
A new custom prom will be needed.
My speedo, gauges, and TCC will still function properly without mods.

Also, Could anyone post or e-mail me simpler, easier to read instructions on how to do this.

Anyone know where I can get a custom prom burned? (moderators-If I'm not supposed to ask this, sorry, let me know and I'll change it or feel free to edit it.)
I just don't have the cash for the necessary tools to do it myself

Thanks
Matt

For the same amount of work you can go to 90-92, and really get some where.

Search the DIY Prom board for Mike Davis and read up on the way to do it.

really the 730 is the way to go.
