A 1227730 / 1227727 MAP TPI might work.

ftp://ftp.diy-efi.org/pub/gmecm/manu...727V8TPI-5.jpg

It only has 2 injector drivers and the injectors are wired 4 in paralell. If the injector driver is of 'peak and hold' type then it might work just fine. The rest of the sensors are the same as with the 1228746.

The 1227165 MAF TPI also has two injector drivers, and they ARE peak and hols. Probably the same drivers are used in the 1227730 / 1227727.

Also according to the diy-efi site the 1227165 ECM is used on a L4 TBI engine.

I think that it would work just fine once you have it tuned.

Yes, you can but it's a PITB.
Tuning a wet manifold from TPI means all the AE stuff is wrong.

The actual injector firing STRATEGY, is different.
The actual injector suggested operating times are different.

I've done it, and I didn't see where all the work was worth the effort.

If you go thru things you'll see the 749 ecm is about your only answer since it has two P+H output injector drivers.
