What are people using?
Hi everybody. I need help. I have a 90 IROC w/TPI383 and stock ecm. The folks burning my chip are not cooperating to say the least and I think I have to do it myself. I'd like some input as to what guys are doing, burning chips, F.A.S.T. system, Accel DFI, or something else I saw here, using some sort of adapter to be able to program the stock ECM with a laptop by eleminating the PROM. I have the oem wiring diagram and know the stock ECM has wires going to it for 4th gear, TCC, VSS, VATS, and 2 for the A/C. I know how to make my electronic speedo and cruise control work, but I want to keep the A/C and TCC. I already have no EGR and no air injection so that is not a concern. What about the canister purge if that is not wired up? I know this is alot but any help would be greatly appreciated. Lastly, anybody in the Long Island area that has done what I am trying to do? Thanks.

No need to give up anything, just stick with the stock ecm.
Yes, you can bypass using a prom, but it's often MUCH better to take you time, and take notes, so you can note trends, and get the car tuned CORRECTLY much faster.
