DFI 5 tuning question
I am about to start my motor for the first time after the rebuild. I have a DFI 5 that controls my motor.
My old motor was a 406, 10:1 decent heads and SLP headers into a 3in cat, 36 lb SVO injectors and a miniram and solid roller cam 242/250 @0.050 with 0.657/0.600 lift on a 114.
The new motor is still a 406, 11.5:1, AFR 210's and Hooker Super Comps, same 36lb injectors with a miniram with a new solid roller with 248/248 @ 0.050 with 0.615/0.615 on a 110
The question is, do you think the old program is close enough to start the new motor without hurting anything considering the exhaust flows a lot better, heads flow better and cam changed?
The motor ran good with the old setup and was tuned at Cartek in NJ. I just want to know if I can start the car and run for a little while without going back to shop to tune it immediately.
Thanks
Steve

Your old motor's setup is not too far off from the new motor so You should be fine with your old motor's fuel and timing maps. Of course you will have to fine tune your fuel and timing maps to get the most out of your new setup.

Ditto,
at the lower loads the difference in flow while different still is 1/2 way close. Just work your way up in building your tune. ie idle first then light cruise, the 1/2 load, then WOT.
