1227165 Board pics needed.

Hi Guys,

This is my first post. I have spent a large part of last evening reading a whole bunch of posts about the '165 ecm. And have search heavily for pictures on this forum and on the web.

I have one of the 1227808 ecm variants in my Aussie Holden VQ Statesman. A 304CI V8, with late style factory cold air and decent exhaust.

Iam trying to run 32k $12 calibrations (BFPM) instead of ASBX 16k.

From everything I have learned I can run the Knock Sensor enhanced code and also have the benefits of lean cruise, and block learn functions in the old girl! I have bought a new BFPM memcal, and a KS and harness.

One small hassle however, is the use of a Security Code in the later software, that requires a serial data stream into pin A8 @ 8192 baud.....from a body control modual which among otherthings takes care of the car alarm.

I managed to find a company who make a BCM simulator to allow non modified factory memcals with security enabled to work.
But my 808 spec ecm can't communicate at 8162... only 160baud.

I have obtained every component needed to retro fit the U2 SXR uart into my 808 to bring it to 165 spec. Using a bright lamp, and tracing the circuit board, and using the schematic diagrams from Ludis.. I have determined..I think.. where everything goes.

But I need to know for a double check, which points on the board intensionally has nothing fitted.

I would like to know if someone has a good set of scanned pictures of both sides of the 165 computer board. I have a pic of the 'memcal' side, but not the bottom.

Can someone help..

Sean

Thanks for the info learned already, always nice to find another good web source of info.
