Which system?

I got my setup all figured out exept for the ecu part.

The intake system is all figured out. The intake has been disinged and i'm getting 4 tbi units on top of it. Its an I.R (idividual runner) type mannifold and each tbi is feeding opposite 2 cyliders.
I really wan't to build up this setup that we thought up, the only problem is controlling the injectors. Wet manifold types have great potential in n/a systems as long as the runner leagths are "tuned" for the right rpm range. And with 8 x 55ph injectors i really wouldn't run out of fuel. I even might have to considure smaller ones.

Oh yeah.. this is going on top of an 383 with forged internals. And mated with a nice valve train giving the upper end one air

My question specificly is that what ecu would i need to drive the tbi injectors? Would for exaple a haltech system take to load of the big injectors?

Please. Don't flame the idea. Just help with the ecu choise.

I would recommend the Holley Commander 950, because they currently have a multi-TBI injection system controlled by the 950. I'm thinking the stock 730 ECM from any Speed Density TPI car would work with a custom chip, but I'm not certain so I wont say it will. I recommend you PM one of our members, Kingalt0n. He has had expeience with the Commander 950 and big power TBI setups. Good luck!

55 lb injectors are going to be low impeadance & will need the right drivers in the ECU, that leaves the aftermarket as your only choice. The Holley will do it, but you will have to upgrade the firmware to handle 8 low imp injectors.

Nice.

Are high impeadance injectors availible for the tbi injector pod?

If the commander 950 will do. can i change the firmware with the laptop? Would holley charge for the firmware swap (if i can do it my self)?

I read half of the posts on this board last night on came to the conclusion that the commander would be the best cossidering my budget/aplication.

What if the injectors were wired in series. would there be enough current to open both injectors?

wired in series the current would be the same across both injectors. the voltage is what would drop and your injectors wouldn't open all the way

and running them in paralell would burn the transistors? right?

What rick mean by fireware... as in firmware like cd-rom drives ect..????

Does the commander need physical changes to run the 8 injectors?? how about the high-resistance injectors?

"The Holley will do it, but you will have to upgrade the firmware to handle 8 low imp injectors."

tbi injector are 12ohs if i remember correctly, is that high or low imp?? I don't know the scale.

Anybody upgraded the firmware? whats that all about? I've heard of upgrading for example dvd-players.. never heard of ecu's having firmware upgrades.
