uhhh......

Has anyone used a gm ecm to control something other than an engine. It would be cool to wire one up to control SOMETHING....

hmm, i donno, everything that comes to mind this second is FI or it wont work...


you mean take in the various inputs have it do some math and spit out something on the outputs, all in real time?


i suppose you could use the injectors to control a tiny motor or somthing... i donno, somthing with robotics... *shrug*



if you want to do somthing wierd, you should FI your ride on lawnmower or somthing.

I'm not too clear on the specifics of the GM ECM, but the layout of the system is so that it's a pretty basic sensor system applicable to just about anything within the same amount of electrical tolerances.

Specifically, like the throttle position sensor: it takes and moves the resistance through the circuit up/down as the throttle-blades open. So it wouldn't be so hard to have that circuit be a actuator sensor, and sense the amount a robotic arm moves up and down.
