Lost with computer. newbie..
I got myself a fancey 96LT1 with matching computer.. Basicly.. computer wise i'm at the "shinny box with 4 connectors, and a removable plate on the top.." I im putting a T5 behind the engine.. at least till it blows up.. I think.. the computer is from an automatic.. I am removing most traces of A.I.R .. I have yet to get a wiring harness because I am hearing stories about using a 94-95 computer because it is obd1 and thus easier.. heck.. i don't even know what plugs into the thing.. ..
Im just lost..
I see programmer I can buy.. some I can make.. what do these do? , VATS is another issue.. how or do I have to get it out?
anyway.. any info is a great help .. thanks.

Yes, you want the 94-95 PCM.
WWW.Tunercat.com has the editing program you want. I think he has a link to one of the guys that sells programming cables. Get 2 PCMs. The down side to the Flash PCMs is that if there's a voltage glitch when programming, the PCM gets dumb stupid, and locks up.
