Switch computer to non vats

I have had trouble getting my car started (project car) The security light won't go out. I have tried to jumper the VATS with all 15 different resistor values with no luck. If I get another computer that came out of a car with the same engine and auto transmission, and NO Vats, will it work with no problem or will I have to rewire a bunch of stuff. The computer has the same number on it but is out of a car with no vats.

The computer number is 1227302

Thanks for the help.

Michael

It's not the computer that has the code, it is the chip inside the computer. When you were trying those codes, did you wait a minimum of 5 minutes between each attempt? Also, were you connecting those resistors to the connector with the purple/yellow & black/white wires?
