Will not having an IAT sensor pluged in give you a check engine light. I have a painless harness for a tbi and it has no plug for the IAT.

If the ECM is expecting an IAT and it isn't there, yes the SES will light. Not all ECMs use/expect an IAT.

Sounds like a truck tbi wiring harness. If this is for the 3rd Gen tbi, I believe they do use an MAT/IAT (RBob can confirm). Did you order the harness and did you specify the specific car?

If this is the ONLY limitation, you can pin the wire from the connector to the ECM and use the MAT/IAT.
