what chip is this? 'aftermarket performance'

Hey guys.. helping a friend troubleshoot his car and I found this chip installed in his computer. Anyone know what type/brand it is?? Looks like some sort of aftermarket chip.

Can it be removed, and is the stock chip still in there??

Looks like a piggy back adapter, (Moates?). You can remove it by pressing the (blue and white) tabs on each end, just like a normal memcal. The existing memcal is still used, (plugged in on the top). The black eprom is the part that was reprogrammed. The stock eprom is in the memcal, but was just "bypassed" with the adapter.
