ECM swap: 7747 to 7727

Long time reader, first time posting. I swapped in a TBI to replace a carb a couple of years ago, did some uvprom work in the 747 and the vehicle runs good. Ok, the vehicle is a truck but this board is the best technical resource I can find (which is great) so I am hoping you guys can help out.

I want to upgrade to a better ECM, possibly a 727. I have located a pin for pin interchange for a 747 and 727 but its a little vague. I have searched the subject and didn't come up with a schematic like I have for my old 747 which showed actual sensors etc. Does anyone have a good drawing for a 727? Is this a do-able swap with the existing 747 harness aside from reworking it alittle? I believe the 727 used a different prom but can I still program it similiar to the 747 prom (I have a software package at work that allows me to program almost any uv or ee prom). Is there a better ECM than the 727 which I should consider?

I'm about to do the same swap. The 730 and 727 are basically the same thing from what I understand.

Right now my issue is what to do with the VSS. I have a post about it in this forum right now I'm hoping I can get some help with.

Aside from that it's just alot of re-pinning the harness and adding a few wires for the IAT and splicing the injector harness in.

I'll see about getting my wiring diagrams scanned so you can use them. I'll have to see if my scanner still works...
