v6 Diagnostics?
Hi,
Has anyone every attempted or have experience performing diagnostics on a Camaro with a v6? My application has a modded
3.4L that needs to be scanned to determine what the ECM is reading in order to fix some minor problems.

If you are using the stock '88 ECM I believe WinALDL will work. That ECM uses a 160 baud interface.

Yes, that particular scan tool does. Or a PC, WinALDL is free (which is good), and a cable can be made for about 5 dollars or purchased for 40 or so.

Just an update for reference.
I had a local shop run a scan on it and based on the readings given, nothing seemed out of the ordinary, but this is OBD1 we're refering to here so it may come as no surprise.
The symptom or problem is that when the ECM goes to closed loop, there is a significant miss at idle but reving the motor does smooth it out considerably. ECM never puts out a code.
When the O2 sensor is disconnected the idle problem is cleared.
I suspect the problem is the 19lb injectors causing the car to run real rich and the O2/ECM reading it and trying to lean it out.
I realized when doing this project that the ECM would run into problems with the mods I made, especially with the oversized injectors. I added an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to try to compensate but this doesn't seem to help.
Looks as though I may have to locate a shop or someone to burn a customized chip . For these V6's this seems to be an unpopular
option. I don't want to spend the $$ to do it myself at this time just to burn one chip.
Appreciate any suggestions.
