730 Limits?
Went through a few pages and didnt really find what I needed. What are the limits of the 730? There will be a pretty radical motor going in my car, but the engine guy needs to know more about the the computer before a cam is ground. IIRC it has tables up to 7,400, but what about in terms of vacuum/duration? Anything else that might be good for them to know?
There is alot on this subject on the DIY prom board. There was a problem with the $8d fueling a large engine with large injectors. Z69 came up with the PW fix, while RBob, came up with an extended VE patch that allows fueling for up to 6400 RPM. You will have to do your own eproms, and depending what editor you use, some changes would be in order, so you can tune the VE tables. Traxion labled a bin, S_AUJP_v3, which can be downloaded from Craig Moates website. I believe the 730 ECM is pretty much unlimited. IMO,keeping the cam at a 110 to 112 LSA, would be alot easier to tune as far as the VE tables go. Others on this forum have tuned some really big cams though. HTH.
