alright everyone my car is all finished up at the mechanics...HSR, accel gen 6 DFI, vette servo, torque convertor, switched to SD from maf, and a few lil otheres. but my question now is we're tuning it (or attepting to) with a nec laptop. but when ever we plug the cable into the the cars computer, it will give a error message (echo mismatch) we checked the help and its defintion is unexpected data transferred from ecu to pc. so as it stands the car will start then sputter out, but we cant fix anythign since thats the only messgae we get. any help... id raelly like to drive my car again finally before winter hits. thanks.

You need an old-school computer setup to run the gen 6 stuff. Try a laptop with PURE MS DOS v6.22 for best results. If you can't find anything like that, I believe that you can run windoze 95 or maybe 98 and get it to work by restarting the computer in DOS mode.

 

alright will i got windows 98 on it right now, so ill just try dos mods. i hope its not too major of a problem...and the lap top i have is very old school...i dont think they come much older.
