2 Transistor ALDL Link Communication
I built the two transistor aldl link found here:
http://www.andywhittaker.com/ecu/aldl_hardware_cont.htm
using external +12 for power, Pin A for ground, M for serial data.
Using Craig Moates v 8.52, I can't get the two to link up. It tells me there is some send receive echo going on. If I disconnect the M pin, it tells me the last address it read ... like 0E or FF.
Does this mean the two are communicating?
What is my next step to get them to link?

If using a 165 ECM, you may need the 10K resistor between A & B.
If using a '730, I don't know what to tell you, other than that it should work fine as-is.

It's almost instant.
I've seen some computers that were funny about the serial port. If you're in windows, try rebooting it in DOS mode, or even off a DOS boot disk. Or try another computer, if possible.
You might try running the ALDL test program from TTS.
