1986 LG4 ECM and 700R4 question

I did an engine swap. 95 LT1 with the 700R4. Is it possible to use the 86 ecm solely to operate the TCC solenoid on the 700R4 if the engine for the ecm is not there. Bascially, i dont want to buy a lockup kit.
